Full Light Package'd ex-DRGW Unit
Title:  Full Light Package'd ex-DRGW Unit
Description:  Despite the missing numberboard, UP 1359 (ex-DRGW 3118) still sports a full light package on the nose. Adam Lutt confirmed that the gyra-lights are no longer operable, but still, it's cool they're still there!

ARR 3001
Title:  ARR 3001
Description:  This matched set of as-delivered black Geeps have been paired together for the past few weeks. They can be seen hanging out around the engine shops on the south end of the yard, and I've been wanting a shot of them for quite some time. One tidbit: You would think ARR 3001 would be the class unit of these GP40-2s, but trailing ARR 3006 is actually the class unit. It was built as ARR 3000, and, for some reason, it was re-numbered to 3006. Anyone know when or why?

Title:  ARR 3010
Description:  ARR 3010 and another two GP40-2s lead a southbound freight bound for the barge in Whittier near Indian. There was another barge in at Seward, but this one was the more interesting train to chase. Despite the poor weather, I was out mainly to get video of this train. ARR 3006
Title:  ARR 3006
Description:  Original paint scheme'd GP40-2 leads a lone hopper under the only signal bridge like it on the Alaska Railroad back toward the yard in Anchorage. I've dubber this industrial job as "The Trundler" as it spends most of its time on a rickety mile-long spur which serves local industries. You can see my video camera on the right side of this shot and if you're interested, you can see video of The Trundler's day here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEslYZnkucA

ARR 3006
Title:  ARR 3006
Description:  The APU Spur job works along E. 1st Ave in Anchorage as ARR 3006 splices 2 covered hoppers for the Alaska Mill Feed & Garden Center. The reason it's configured this way is because the customer has two spurs, one for fertilizer and one for feed. One of those spurs is a facing point move and the other is a trailing point move.

ARR 3007
Title:  ARR 3007
Description:  ARR 3007 leads a rare'ish weekend Whittier freight on the western flanks of Anchorage. ARR 3007 (and sister unit ARR 3008) were, at the time, the last GP40-2s to be re-painted in the Baby MAC scheme. They're also the only two to receive this style of nose herald, something to take note of for you modelers out there.
